Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
Introduction.
This policy explains what this site collects, why it collects it and what you can do about it. It covers genrics.org and nothing else.
Reading fitment information here needs no account. You share data only when you send the contact form, subscribe to alerts or allow cookies.
Information we collect.
Contact form: the name, email address, subject and message you type. That data is used to answer your question and nothing else.
Newsletter: the email address you submit for cross-reference guide and new-part alerts. You can unsubscribe from any message.
Technical data: your browser type, device type, referring page and pages viewed, collected in aggregate through analytics. It shows which fitment pages get read, not who read them.
Cookies.
Cookies store your banner choice and analytics identifiers. Declining leaves the site fully readable; only the analytics cookie is withheld.
Your browser settings can block or clear cookies at any time. Blocking them does not restrict access to any page here.
How we use your data.
Data is used to reply to your message, send the alerts you asked for and understand which parts pages people read. It is never sold, rented or traded.
Third-party links and services.
Outbound product links lead to retailer pages that set their own cookies and run their own privacy policies. Read those policies on the retailer's site.
Analytics is provided by a third-party service that processes technical data on this site's behalf under its own terms.
Data retention.
Contact-form messages are kept while the question is open and for a reasonable period afterwards. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregate analytics data is retained in summary form.
Security.
Reasonable technical and organisational measures protect the data held here. No transmission over the internet is fully secure, so send nothing sensitive through the contact form. Payment data is never collected on this site.
Children's privacy.
This site is written for adults buying and installing vehicle parts. It is not directed at children under 13, and no data is knowingly collected from them. A parent who believes otherwise should write to the address below.
Your choices.
You may ask what data is held about you, ask for correction, ask for deletion or withdraw consent for alerts. Write to the address below and the request is handled within a reasonable period.
Changes to this policy.
This policy changes when the site's practices change. The date at the top marks the last revision, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
